New Buildings Coming to the South Loop in 2016
Our 2016 New Chicago Apartment Guide provides a comprehensive overview of the 21 rental buildings opening this year. Today we’re highlighting the luxury apartment buildings opening in the South Loop neighborhood. These three properties will collectively add 1,173 new units to Chicago’s rental market inventory.
1000 S Clark
- 1000 S Clark St
- 469 Units
- February 2016
1000 S Clark is the first of many deliveries in the South Loop and will feature amenities never before built in Chicago. A private BYOB bar room, 25,000 square feet of outdoor spaces and indoor basketball/racquetball courts are only a few of the exceptional amenities at the property. This stretch of Clark Street and the soon to develop River South neighborhood is fast becoming the most popular spot for new luxury apartments in Chicago. Prices at 1000 S Clark will set the high water mark in the South Loop with one bedroom units over $2000 and two bedrooms pushing $3200+. Brand new South Loop luxury apartments now come at a premium.
- 1001 S State St
- 397 Units
- July 2016
1001 brings the features, finishes and feel of a Streeterville or River North high rise to the South Loop. 1001 will be an elegant and welcome addition to a pocket of the South Loop that has undergone limited development in the last ten years. Luxury finishes and amenities will be on par with other brand new offerings and pricing should be slightly below 1000 S Clark and a few steps less than the prime Loop and River North buildings.
One Triple Three
- 1333 S Wabash
- 304 Units
- June 2016
With a similar albeit, smaller sister condo building next door, developer CMK has quietly been building this all glass, striking 28 story tower near the intersection of Wabash and Roosevelt. While amenities will likely not be as robust as the other new South Loop options, unit sizes will be larger and feature a more prominent mix towards 1 bedroom plus den and 2 Bedroom options. There will also be a number of unique duplex penthouse units with thoughtful floor plans, outdoor space, and incredible views.
