Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging & Wellbeing at Luxury Living
A business can be a force for good.
In 2017, to support the Women’s movement, Luxury Living Chicago Realty (LLCR) aimed to create an organization that held space for women. Since then, we implemented a plan that converted our sales team from being 80% male to 60% female and ensured there was equal representation of women in our leadership and management roles.
Now in 2020, we are committed to running an anti-racist organization.
However, we have to own something first. We know when you look at the make-up of our team, we lack diversity. We want to do better.
After taking the time to listen and learn, we have created an action plan to ensure our efforts are more than a check-the-box moment on social media. We want this philosophy to be deep-rooted in our company.
Here is where our work will begin:
- Engage in anti-racist education & training for our team to lay a foundation for being inclusive and equitable
- Support our local community by making sure budget dollars are allocated to minority-owned businesses.
- Build a more diverse team by making sure our job openings are seen by a wide & diverse audience.
- Partner with organizations to address housing discrimination practices in Chicago and make sure there is equal housing for all.
Building an anti-racist organization is going to take time and effort, but it’s worth it.
