West Loop Apartments Near Google’s New Chicago Office

Considering all the new restaurants, boutiques and under-construction luxury rental residences opening in the West Loop, possibly the most anticipated one of all is the office relocation of Google to 1000 W. Fulton. Once home to Fulton Market Cold Storage, this historic structure has been transformed into a state-of-the-art LEED Gold certified office and retail building, aptly named 1K Fulton.

When the building opens in the very near future, it will fuel the entire neighborhood by bringing hundreds of employees to nearby restaurants, including some of the top spots in Chicago like Girl & The Goat, Au Cheval, Moto and Bar Siena. Plus, the building also has retail space along the street level, like the absolutely stunning Swift & Sons restaurant, which opened earlier this month, and the rumor of a Doughnut Vault to join the fray.

It appears these soon-to-be-relocated employees may need to reconsider their commute. The recently built Green/Pink el stop at Morgan and Lake helps commuters who live in and around the Loop, but there is nothing better than simply walking to work when Chicago turns into a Winter Wonderland.

One of the top developers in the area has several West Loop apartment properties in the area, like Madison Aberdeen Place, located at the corner of Aberdeen and Madison, and Van Buren Morgan Place, located right down the street from 1KFulton at Morgan and Van Buren.

There are also two brand new developments that are slotted for move-ins as soon as February 2016 and will begin pre-leasing in early December. The first is Jackson Throop Place and the other is Madison Throop Place, both of which are walking distance to the office. With features like über-equipped chef’s kitchens, bamboo floors throughout, custom closets, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and recessed lighting, it’s a home that beautifully complements a unique commercial space like 1KFulton.

Luxury Living Chicago has a variety of listings throughout the neighborhood surrounding Google’s new office. Find a West Loop apartment here.

The future of the West Loop is never-ending at this point, with two new hotels coming to Randolph (Ace Hotel and Nobu), a Brooklyn Bowl to add some more entertainment to the heavily food-driven region, and of course, more restaurants like Stephanie Izard’s newest endeavor, Duck Duck Goat, and Rick Bayless’ Cruz Blanca brewery opening next spring. Google is definitely planting roots in an area anticipated to be the most desirable area to live in Chicago.
