Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner in Logan Square

Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood is thriving, partially thanks to the wide variety of restaurants and bars that continue to open. Logan Square is increasingly becoming a destination for both tourists and Chicagoans with new boutiques, shops, cocktail bars, breweries, and restaurants.  We’ve picked three of our favorite stops for breakfast, lunch and dinner:

Breakfast at Bang Bang Pie Shop

Take the weather conditions into consideration before heading to Bang Bang Pie Shop (2051 N. California) for breakfast. The line to order often winds out the door and down the sidewalk. When I visited this fall, we sat at a picnic table in the colorful side yard area, although there is some limited seating inside. If you’re looking for a savory meal, dive into the biscuit options. Try one with gravy, or candied bacon, collard greens, poached egg and hot sauce. Bang Bang also offers pot pies, grits, and house-made granola. There is no acceptable use for not getting a delicious slice of pie, so remember  you can always order one to go!

Lunch at The Chicago Diner

The Chicago Diner’s second location at 2333 N. Milwaukee is a must-visit spot in Logan Square, for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. All menu items are vegan or have a vegan option, even the Country Fried Steak. The Chicago Diner is well-known for their milk-free milkshakes and other vegan desserts, including a fudge brownie sundae, caramel apple pie a la mode, and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Dinner at 90 Miles Cuban Cafe

Logan Square’s best Cuban food can be found at 90 Miles, 2540 W. Armitage Avenue. The restaurant is BYOB and serves mixes for mojitos and sangria. It’s tough to beat their tropical patio, complete with string lights, all summer long. 90 Miles also offers an all-you-can-eat pig roast during dinner occasionally, with a wide variety of sides and includes dessert. Stop by soon for a cuban sandwich or puero roastizado, which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Other awesome options in the neighborhood include: Revolution Brewing, Lula Cafe, Boiler Room, Longman & Eagle, and Parson’s Chicken and Fish. Did we miss your favorite spot in Logan Square? Please share it in the comments below!
