As March Madness winds down, keep the excitement going by following the race for the most popular downtown Chicago neighborhood in 2015. The first step for most people beginning the search for a luxury Chicago apartment is choosing a neighborhood. Each Chicago neighborhood has its advantages, from restaurants to brand-new apartment buildings, so we’ve narrowed down the Elite Eight to the Final Four. River North apartments proved to be the most popular selection for our clients in 2014 and we have predicted them to go all the way again in 2015. However, Chicago’s real estate market is just like March Madness; it will be a close competition and anything can happen.

Streeterville

Nestled between Lake Michigan and River North, Streeterville apartments offer access to the best parts of downtown Chicago- especially in the warmer months. Residents can easily walk to work, take advantage of the lakeshore path, or shop on Magnificent Mile.

Key Players: NBC Tower, Northwestern Hospital, University of Chicago Gleacher Center, Navy Pier, AMC River East, and Lurie Children’s Hospital.

2015 Game Changer: North Water Apartments

West Loop

The West Loop is currently one of the fastest developing neighborhoods in Chicago. From the quirky Fulton Market District to Restaurant Row, West Loop apartments are becoming increasingly proximate to the city’s best restaurants and a variety of things to do.

Key Players: The United Center, Union Station, Google (coming soon), Girl and the Goat, Olgilvie Station, City Winery, Au Cheval, and the French Market.

2015 Game Changer: Arkadia Tower

The Loop

In past years, the Loop may have been knocked out in the first round. But in 2015, more and more Chicagoans are committing to the fastest possible commute from apartments in the Loop. After One Eleven’s record-breaking sale, it is safe to say this neighborhood is here to compete. Developers have taken note and more construction is on the way to deliver new apartments in the heart of Chicago.

Key Players: Willis Tower, The Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Board of Trade, and Buckingham Fountain.

2015 Game Changer: JeffJack Apartments

River North

As one of the largest downtown Chicago neighborhood, River North apartments may have an unfair advantage. Add in the art galleries, fantastic restaurants , nd endless nightlife options, and you can understand why we expect River North to take the cake again this year.

Key Players: Merchandise Mart, Eataly, Sunda, East Bank Club, Gilt Bar, RPM Italian, Erie Park, and Chicago Cut Steakhouse.

2015 Game Changer: Jones Chicago

No matter which neighborhood they call home, the new apartment buildings in downtown Chicago leave nothing to be desired. Find your new home:
